A webinar about how language can support respectful environments

Pronouns aren’t a new part of language, but they’re more visible lately; there’s growing awareness about the ways that people use pronouns to express and communicate about gender. Getting better about using people’s pronouns correctly is part of being respectful, and making sure that your workplace, group or family is inclusive and safe.

You might have added pronouns to your email signature or your LinkedIn profile, or your workplace might have introduced pronouns on name badges. Could you explain why, if someone questioned you about this?

This webinar explored why pronouns are important, and where they fit into the wider picture of rainbow inclusion. We talked about our new guidance resource, which shares good practices for using people’s pronouns, sharing your own pronouns, and creating environments where using the correct pronouns for everyone is normalised and part of respectful conversations.
